Lauren Gustafson is the MAT Patient Coordinator for Keystone Substance Abuse Services. With a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications and a special recognition award under her belt, Lauren brings a unique blend of skills to her role. Over the past two years at Keystone, she has quickly risen through the ranks, starting as a Prevention Specialist, transitioning to a Peer Support Specialist in the Women's Intensive Out-patient program, and finally being promoted to her current role. Lauren’s dedication and team spirit have not gone unnoticed as her colleagues presented her with an Employee of the Month recognition. Her passion for patient care and her knack for fostering a supportive community led her to revive Keystone's Alumni Committee, strengthening the ties among former patients and the organization.

Beyond her work at Keystone, Lauren is a key player at FAVOR (Faces and Voices of Recovery) where she co-founded the Pregnant and Parenting Recovery Support (PPRS) group, providing crucial support to a vulnerable demographic. Her volunteer efforts extend to the Life House Women’s Shelter, and she’s been a relentless advocate for educating the public about substance use disorders, aiming to dispel the associated stigma. Lauren’s impact in the recovery community earned her a spot on the Addiction Professionals of South Carolina Peer Panel, where she shared her insights and experiences.

Looking ahead, Lauren is eager to strengthen partnerships between Keystone, FAVOR, CACH, and local shelters. Her vision includes establishing a Keystone Recovery House to further integrate community-based recovery efforts. Reducing stigma and ensuring that people affected by substance use disorders receive the necessary treatment and support remains her ultimate goal. Lauren also plays a critical role in care coordination, working closely with patients, Clinical Counselors, and the Treatment Director to enhance program development. Her efforts to revive Keystone Alumni have created a platform for former patients to celebrate successes and give back to the community, exemplifying her commitment to holistic recovery. There is no question that Lauren is one to watch here in York County.
