Tylee Tracer-Anderson

Tylee Tracer-Anderson is making an impact in public communications and community engagement as the Director of Communications for the Catawba Indian Nation. In nearly two years, Tylee has transformed how the Nation interacts with both its local and broader audiences, driving a remarkable increase in media presence and community involvement.

Recognizing a need for better internal and external communication, Tylee spearheaded the development of a new citizen communication system. This system includes user-friendly text alerts and a streamlined engagement platform that facilitates interaction between citizens and CIN leadership. Additionally, Tylee set an ambitious goal to have at least one story published each month through media partners. Not only did she meet this target, but she consistently surpassed it, achieving an average of three stories per month. This significant media exposure has greatly enhanced the Nation’s public profile.

Tylee is an active member and panel guest of the Palmetto Alliance of Public Information Officers (PAPIO). She engages with public information officers statewide, sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration.

Tylee dedicates her time to several local organizations. She is the Nomination Chair for Van Wyck Elementary PTO, volunteers with the Catawba Riverkeepers, and with Anne Springs Greenway.

Tylee’s efforts have not only raised the profile of the Catawba Indian Nation but also fostered greater community connections and improved internal communication. Her work with state and federal officials, including organizing a high-profile visit from Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, underscores her commitment to elevating the Nation’s visibility and influence.
